HOW TO Quickie: Embedded Google Videos
I recently came across a great website that allows you to easily embed Google Videos within your website. DownloadGoogleVideos.com utilizes the Google Video search engine to let you find the video you want, and gives you the code you need to display the same video. This website also allows you to post the video on your website via a link that fires up a popup window.
Go to DownloadGoogleVideos.com, search for a video and grab the code below the video player. Below is what the actual code looks like. I recommend adding a div tag and aligning the video in the center or however you wish to align it.
UPDATE: The site has been since closed. Google now offers the code to embed videos on your site directly.

Awesome little tutorial thanks for the info.
Have you tried anything with google maps??? Or Google earth???
I’ll have another quickie for embedding Google Maps in a few days. Thanks for the suggestion. I don’t think it’s possible to embed Google Earth, as that is a standalone application.
With Google Earth - I suppose if there was a plugin the site could generate kml and the plugin do the rest???? Looking forward to the google maps tutorial.
That is very cool!! I was searching for something like that!!
thanks!
Great tutorial paul!
nice job on using Top Gear too! I love that show even though I have to download it to watch it
This is a great hack… no need for YouTube anymore. Can Google Video replace Internet Archive as a storage space for videocasters? It seems to do everything we need, but I’d like to hear from someone with experience using Google Video.
BTW: Here’s Google Video’s Uploading instructions.
Fantastic!!!
Web is getting cooler everyday. RSS AJAX … … …
Thanks a lot for the fantastic tip. Im going to take a dive.
More !!! :)
Awesome!
Gonna have to try this out sometime.
:-)
Well, it looks DownloadGoogleVideos is now just a scam site to get you to fork over $50 for what they initially offered for free. I’m guessing it will only be a short time until someone else offers something similar. Still sucks though.
Maybe I’m missing something, but it doesn’t look like they offer the code any more.
Ok, I’m a tard. I see it now.
DownloadGoogleVideos.com
It was brought to our attention that the actions of this site violate Google.com’s Terms of Service. For this reason the service has been discontinued.
Additional websites for downloading videos can be found here and here.
It worked once?
Yeah, that is not working anymore. I wrote a howto explaining how to put this google videos to work, hope its useful.
you can see it here: http://www.ovelha.org/pasteler0/2005/12/14/howto-google-videos-on-your-website/
:)
Google now officially supports this and provides the code themselves - see a demo on my site:

Great tip, thanks a lot.
This is something I’ve started to think about doing for a while, and hadn’t stopped to find out out to implement it. Problem solved now, cheers!
yes i agree!
An answer to John (1st reply) about Google Earth.
What I do is I store my .kml files on a server that runs PHP (let’s call this site “www.serverthatrunsphp.com”), in a folder (let’s call it “folder”). In the same folder I have this “readkml.php” script :
Then on any other webiste, I put this link :
http://www.serverthatrunsphp.com/folder/readkml.php?location=name_of_a_kml_file
When you click on it, it will open Google Earth for you and zoom the earth to the location. Check it out here :
